WFW ETERNITY IN OUR HEARTS

She shall rejoice in time to come...

Proverbs 31:25

I wish that I could take credit for this amazing picture, but it was taken from Photobucket. I used to hear this verse and think of people- that people are made beautiful in their time (with gifts and talents and dreams fulfilled.) Now, I apply it also to things and circumstances. There is a time for everything. And, God will make beautiful and perfect that which we are concerned about. (Psalm 138:8)
I have seen the burden God has laid on men. He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. I know that there is nothing better for men than to be happy and do good while they live. That everyone may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all his toil—this is the gift of God. I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that men will revere him.
Ecclesiastes 3:10-14

How wonderful that God has put eternity in each heart with a curiosity and longing for life beyond death and a desire to live for more than the mundane and the temporal. How precious that God made the way for eternal, abundant, and fulfilling life here and now through Christ. Please stop by Amy Deane's blog and consider joining WFW!

  2. Lovely, and as I said in another post, it is not in the length of the life that God glories but in the beauty of that life as it glorifies Him.

  3. Beautiful words Laurie and a great passage from Scripture as well. I remember longing to know more about where we came from and why we were here before I became a believer. I had a longing or desire for eternity in myheart even then.
    Thank you dear friend.

  9. Laurie,

Perhaps this is the very reason why people continue to pursue more every day. Better jobs, better homes, better everything, in search of that very thing that God placed in our hearts. It just too bad that some keep looking in all the wrong places.

  10. I love this verse. Thank you for sharing it!

..it is still that "in its time" part I struggle with, though... this verse is a good reminder to us to trust and wait, wait and trust, in the Lord.

  11. everything is beautiful and made perfect in it's time -- in the time that God has prepared for that purpose. Thanks for that reminder today -- as I go through a period of waiting, it's easy to get distracted... but I know that in God's time, it is perfect.

  19. Hey, Laurie,
I love the butterfly illustration. It is the logo for our church's mission: transformation.

And, of course, I love the verse about eternity in the hearts of men (& women!) which is my mission at Eternity Cafe! We're 2 birds of a feather!

And by the way, how are you doing with your book? Remember that I'd love to read what you've got!
